I had a bit of an epiphany last night that I have been debating on how to share with my friends, or even if I should. When I have spoken about this topic before I can see in the comments that people are trying so hard not to be judgemental, but the judgement is there. And I've noticed it when trying to spend time with friends in person as well. I think it's one of those things that unless you have been challenged in this way you just think a simple word of advice is all that's needed to "fix it", and that's not true.

So I've decided to launch a new blog. I tried to start "The Messy Cookbook" a couple years ago and it just never took off. The biggest downfall for me was that I just wasn't good at taking pictures. It's not that I didn't like photography, I do, I love it, I just was not inclined to put a meal on hold so that I could take some photos of my delicious food. And lets face it, my dishes were often quite ugly despite their delicious contents. (what can I say, I'm messy!)

Today has been a slow, yet hectic day around the house. While I was in the kitchen making blueberry muffins, my husband was helping out by doing the laundry. Suddenly he starts hollering, very excited, for me to "Hurry! Come quick!" as he stands at the door to Avery's room.

I was hesitant to include this section in my blog, especially under the given name. I am by no means a parenting expert - nor do I like to give advice or tell other people how to care for their own children. But I do however have a toddler, and from time to time she does insanely cute things or pushes my limits in ways that I never thought possible from such a little person. I know it's a constant struggle for me personally to look on the bright side of things when she gets worked up and throws a tantrum, so my goal with this section of my blog is to share any and all moments of triumph - no matter how big or small. I hope to share these stories with you and the wisdom and lessons that I learn from her. She really has a lot to teach me in her own way, I just need to be patient enough to listen. -Sam
