Deviled Eggs

Today I wanted to share a recipe for Deviled Eggs that I found on AllRecipes.com As usual, I modified the recipe and tweaked it to fit my tastes.

Hardboiled Eggs

Proof that I can hardboil eggs and have them turn out beautiful.

For this recipe you will need the following ingredients –
6 hardboiled eggs
1/2 stalk celery, finely chopped
1/4 red onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup mayo
salt to taste
1 dash hot sauce
Dijon mustard
paprika, for garnish
And my personal touch –
Sweet Relish

1. If you haven’t done so already, hardboil your eggs. I like to heat a pot of water to a boil, then reduce heat and add my eggs and let them cook for 10 – 12 minutes. If I cook them for 10 minutes, I’ll leave them in the hot water until they cool. If I cook for 12 minutes, I’ll remove immediately from the heat and cool off in cold water.

2. After your eggs are cooked, remove the shells, cut them in half and scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl.  Add your celery, onion, mayo, salt, hot sauce, and mustard. Mix it up really good, and then add relish to taste. It’s really important to sample before you add the relish, because you just might like it without!

3. Now that your egg yolks are seasoned and smashed, gently add them back into eggs. Sprinkle with Paprika to add a splash of color, cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Hope you all have enjoyed this little recipe of mine. You can find the original here. Feel free to print out your own copy and make some modifications of your own! You are more than welcome to post links to your personal twists in the comments below, and to share pictures of your eggs.

Happy cooking!
